Ben 10 Omnitrix
May 15, 2008 - By Justin Hartman
If you’ve got kids, or are a kid yourself, then you’ll know all about the hit show, Ben 10. For those of you who are reading this post blankly, Ben 10 is a cartoon series featured on Cartoon Network and the show has captured the imagination of millions of kids world-wide.
The main focus of the cartoon is the Omnitrix, a watch-like alien device which can transform Ben into a number of different aliens, which he uses to battle the various villains in the series. The Omnitrix works by binding alien DNA to Ben’s, transforming him into the alien of his choice for ten minutes and then reverting him back to normal. This time limit is a failsafe designed to keep the alien DNA from overwhelming him.
This is the kind of stuff that Geek’s are made of and soon after the success of the show a range of Ben 10 paraphernalia was launched to kids. One such device is the Ben 10 Omnitrix watch which we’re featuring today.
The Omnitrix features flashing red and green lights, you can flick the dial to select who you want Ben 10 to transform into and then press it to activate the cool sound effects. You can select between 10 unique aliens, all of which have their own super cool unique power.
Ben has the responsibility of protecting the earth with this watch, now your kids can too. I gave the Omnitrix to my son and it’s been a hit ever since.
I must just warn you that this watch is massive. I’ve never seen a watch this big and if your kid is younger than 4 then it will most likely be too big and heavy for him to wear. Apart from this minor fact the watch is a great role-playing experience and being the biggest feature on my son’s arm the other kids can’t miss seeing that he has a super-cool toy that makes them green with envy.
